Ms. Nouf Behbehani, Acting Director General of the Environment Public Authority, represented the State of Kuwait at the second meeting of the "Leaders' Summit on Biodiversity," held as part of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 17) in Armenia.
In her address, Ms. Behbehani reaffirmed the State of Kuwait’s firm commitment to the provisions of the Global Biodiversity Framework and the preservation of natural ecosystems. She highlighted Kuwait’s national initiatives aimed at protecting terrestrial and marine reserves, rehabilitating damaged environments, and reducing the rate of biodiversity loss.
Ms. Behbehani noted that Kuwait’s participation in this high-level international conference reflects its dedication to supporting collective global efforts to address environmental and climate challenges, while striving to achieve ecological balance and sustainable development for future generations.
